Driven by the desire to find a healthier alternative, we started experimenting with plant-based waxes and premium paraben and phthalate-free fragrances. After extensive research and testing, we found that using 100% plant-based waxes and carefully selected fragrances eliminated the irritation we had previously experienced. This discovery moved us to share our creations with others, and thus, Mayken Light Candles was born.

The Story Behind The Name

Our journey began with a simple desire to create something meaningful, and that's how our store got its name. Inspired by the love we have for our two grandchildren, Maisie and Layken, we combined their names to create "Mayken."

But our mission goes beyond the name. The Northern Star that shines brightly above our logo represents the Light of the World. Influenced by the verse from John 8:12, "I am the light of the world, whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." We pray that each candle we make becomes a beacon of God's love and welcomes his presence into your home and space.
